The streets of Burleigh were the focus for food, fashion and fun tonight as the Burleigh Winter Solstice Festival celebrated the passage of the shortest day of the year.
Thousands of people flocked to see the live bands, street performers and fashion parades, to sample the food and to browse the arts and crafts market.
The non-stop entertainment lineup featured Cloud 9, Blind Lemon, and Bluesville Station on the stage followed by Broadway & Opera classics.
Local restaurants and street vendors fed the masses with warming food and drink on the longest night of the year.
Best Themed Restaurant was awarded to Picnic At Burleigh located at shop1/ 20 James Street in Burleigh Heads.
Picnic At Burleigh is open for breakfast and lunch but is best known for it’s delightful gourmet hampers and picnic baskets for anywhere between two and twenty diners.
