White Wings Creamies Biscuits Recalled
November 14th 2012 06:48
Goodman Fielder has notified Food Standards Australia and New Zealand that the Australian company is recalling its range of White Wings Creamies biscuits due to potential foreign matter contamination. Food products containing foreign matter may cause injury if consumed.
The recalled products are:
•White Wings Creamies Whipped Chocolate Cream
•White Wings Creamies Whipped Passionfruit Cream
•White Wings Creamies Lemon and Whipped Cream
•White Wings Creamies Raspberry Jam and Whipped Cream
The affected products are all 200g packets of biscuits in tan-coloured wrappers and all have ‘Best Before’ dates between 01/11/2012 and 29/06/2013.
Goodman Fielder advised FSANZ yesterday that the recalled products had been distributed nationally to Woolworths, Coles, Spar, IGA and other independent supermarkets. The recall applies only to the White Wings Creamies range of biscuits and no other White Wings or Goodman Fielder products are affected.
In a statement on the Goodman Fielder website, Director of Corporate Affairs Martin Cole apologised for the inconvenience and urged consumers that have purchased the products to contact the Goodman Fielder Consumer Advisory Centre on 1800 066 592 to return the products and obtain a full refund.
Due to a packaging fault from the inner plastic tray, there is a possibility that a small piece of loose plastic from the biscuit packaging trays may be contained within the packaging of the biscuits. Goodman Fielder has since changed the material used in the production of the tray packaging to rectify this.
There have been no reports of harm or injury to any consumers and Goodman Fielder considers the possibility of this occurring to be low, but the product is being recalled as a safety precaution.
