Which American accent do you have?

Aussies, stay the hell away from this quiz. Or, conversely, take it and cackle with glee.
After all, Aussies are a group of people that say 'PETER' and 'PITA' the same way.
This is a link to a quiz that'll try to guess where your American accent is from. I'm Canadian, but that's like the 51st state, so I had a go:
What!? Midland?
I guess it's not THAT surprising... after all, I think I've got a neutral accent, though I fake a New York accent when I talk to police officers (a la Goodfellas)
It's also called the newscaster accent, which is good, if I ever want a job on Fox News.
Take the test!

| What American accent do you have? (Best version so far) Midland ("Midland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Midwest") The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it's a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from the Midland. |

Most people don't know it but this is actually what dictionaries are based on. If you don't believe me, pick up any American dictionary and look up "source" and "sauce" and you'll see they are written with the same vowel pronunciation.

Um....I'm Australian with a British accent but I occasionally lapse into Scottish, French and Southern belle because I'm also an idiot.

Small Thoughts on Big Questions
You have a Northern accent. That could either be the Chicago/Detroit/Cleveland/Buf falo accent (easily recognizable) or the Western New England accent that news networks go for.
I'm the western New England version. So far, however, news networks have failed to draft me into their services. Maybe this quiz will get them to take notice.....
