Tiramisu Italian Dessert Recipe And Pics

Classic Italian Dessert Tiramisu mascarpone chocolate
Now that the weather is warming up it is time to ditch the hot desserts, such as chocolate risotto and self saucing puddings, and switch to cold desserts. The following recipe, with step by step pics, is for Tiramisu is a classic Italian dessert which is rich, creamy and luxurious.
Tiramisu Italian dessert recipe ingredients

Ingredients
2 Eggs
150ml (¼ pint) Cream
75g (3oz) Sugar
225g (½ lb) Mascarpone cheese
1 cup Black Coffee
30ml (1floz) Liquor (Masala or dark rum)
1pkt Savoiardi (Finger Biscuits)
50g (2oz) Dark chocolate
tiramisu egg yolks sugar cream

Method
Separate the egg yolks and whites into separate bowls.
Beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
Whip the cream into stiff peaks.
Beat the yolks and sugar together.
Stir the mascarpone cheese into the egg yolks and sugar mixture.
Fold in the whipped cream.
Fold in the egg whites.
Italian dessert recipe savoiardi biscuits coffee

Combine the coffee and liquor and tip some onto a dish.
Briefly dip both sides of each biscuit into the liquid and layer them on the base of a serving dish.
Top the biscuits with half of the mascarpone mixture.
Dip the remaining biscuits into the coffee liquor and layer them on top of the dish.
Top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Tiramisu Italian dessert grated dark chocolate

Grate the dark chocolate onto a cold plate and sprinkle it evenly over the top of the tiramisu.
Allow it to set in the fridge for an hour before serving.
