Liz Hamilton Flavours Recipe Book Events

Also available at this year’s food fair was a fantastic recipe book titled ‘Flavours,’ which features the not-so-secret recipes from no less than sixty famous Gold Coast restaurants.

‘Flavours’ is the brainchild of Liz Hamilton, Managing Director of Events Exclusive, and it is marketed through Restaurant and Catering Queensland.

‘There was no shortage of restaurants willing to be featured in the recipe book,’ Ms Hamilton said.

Chocicious Chocolate Teddy Valentines Day Gift
What better way to win a heart on Valentines Day than with a gift of chocolate? It is said that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach, but I believe that is true of women too. Chocolates stimulating and aphrodisiac qualities have been legendary since the times of the Olmecs, Mayans and Aztecs.
Chocolate is derived from the seeds of the Cacao tree, (pronounced Ka-kow), native to Central and South America. The bitter tasting seeds are fermented, dried and roasted to produce cacao ‘nibs’. Cocoa (Ko-ko) powder is made by grinding, crushing and pressing the ‘nibs’ to remove the oil, or cocoa butter. Manufacturers add sugar, vanilla, milk and extra cocoa butter to make milk chocolate.

Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club Supporters
Broadbeach was abuzz on Australia Day, with people picnicking in the park, boozing on the balconies and cruising in their cars. At The Surf Club, Kurrawa, the party was in full swing too.
Kurrawa SLSC is world renowned for producing first class athletes such as Hayley Bateup and Ky Hurst. There’s a shipload of trophies to prove it. Less widely known is their great bistro. With indoor and balcony seating, diners can overlook the beach and the beautiful blue ocean stretching to the horizon, watch the sports on the big screen or have a flutter on the pokies.
The staff are super friendly, the drinks are cold, and the prices are reasonable. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menus are a multicultural fusion of flavours
