The Second Annual Gold Coast Good Food And Wine Show
January 30th 2010 04:13
The second annual Gold Coast Good Food And Wine Show is being held at the convention centre at Broadbeach this weekend. With almost a hundred exhibitors offering product samples, discounts, wine tasting, cooking demonstrations, appliances, utensils, cook books and coffee making competitions, visitors are sure to find something to suit their tastes.
Celebrity chefs Andre Tabet, Alison Taafe, Peter Howard and Daran Glasgow are displaying their talent in the Coles Celebrity Kitchen, while some of the Gold Coasts top restaurants are presenting a popular selection from their menus. Gold Coast restaurants were absent from last years show, but Saks at Marina Mirage, Chill on Tedder, the Gold Coast Arts Centre, The Tandoori Place and numerous others deserve commendation for rectifying that.
Local winemakers offering taste tests include Albert River Wines, Canungra Valley Vineyards, Cedar Creek, Cherry Tree Hill Wines, Symphony Hill Wines and Sirromet. Gold Coast importers Africape Wines are exhibiting the best imported wines from South Africa, which has a winemaking tradition stretching back over four hundred years.
There are butchers, bakers and barbeque makers, to name a few. Di Bella Coffee, Bistro Tea, Kingaroy Cheese, Forever Knives, Australian Mushroom Growers Association, Hot Ranga Sauces, and the amazing Aussie Prawn Peeler are all promoting their products.
Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $16 for adults and $12 for children and concession holders. The sampling alone is worth the price but it might be advisable to leave the car at home.
