Dining is indoors or alfresco overlooking the hustle and bustle of the mall, which features an arts and crafts market on Friday nights.
The very reasonably priced menu is classic Italian fare. Foccaccia bread with a variety of dips or a piping hot herb and garlic pizza bread are good starters.
Osso Bucco, veal parmagiana, vegetarian lasagna and a full range of pizzas are some of the outstanding Italian favourites.
Befitting a beachside restaurant, a selection of seafood is also available, including oysters natural, mornay or Kilpatrick and an Aussie seafood platter.
However the unopened bottle in my ice bucket was beyond my power to open until the barman came to my rescue with a corkscrew.
Mama Roma Italian Restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
