First Ever Gold Coast Food And Wine Show

The first ever Gold Coast Food and Wine Show is being held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre this weekend. The show boasts well over a hundred exhibitors showcasing the best of the Gold Coast, as well as National and International brands. There are live cooking demonstrations in the Celebrity Kitchen, and the country’s top baristas fighting it out in the Australian Specialty Coffee Championships.
The Celebrity Kitchen stars Ken James, celebrity chef on Bert Newton’s GMA, Alison Taafe, professional cookery teacher and member of the prestigious Les Toques Blanches, and Janelle Bloom, food editor of Family Circle and regular guest on Ready Steady Cook. Janelle is also promoting her new cookbook Fast, Fresh and Fabulous.
Prestigious wineries from the Gold Coast, such as Sirromet and Albert River Wines, along with wineries from all over Australia, are offering a free sample of the fruits of their labour. Kleenmaid Appliances, Di Bella Coffee, Matilda Bay Brewing, O’Reillys Guesthouse and Gold Coast Bakeries are just a small selection of the diverse companies exhibiting their products.
Barambah Organics have an impressive display of organic cheeses available to try or buy. Their range of certified oranic dairy produce includes milk, cream and yoghurt, along with cheddar, fetta and double cream brie cheese.
The Innaugural Gold Coast Food And Wine Show runs from Friday the 30th January to Sunday the 1st of February. Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for students and children under 14 enter for free. Parking at the Gold Coast Convention Centre is $5.
