Gold Coast United Defeats Melbourne Victory In A League Finals

Gold Coast United defeated Melbourne Victory in the first week of the A-League finals yesterday.
The game was played in hot conditions at the Gold Coast’s Skilled Park in front of a small but vocal crowd of 2,800.
After 90 minutes of play there was still no score, although both sides had their chances. GCU goalkeeper Glen Moss repeatedly denying Melbourne Victory with some spectacular saves.
It was GCU's number 6, Deano Djulbic, that broke the deadlock in extra time when he got one past the Melbourne goalie.
In last years first round of finals, Gold Coast United were defeated by the Newcastle Jets 6-5in a penalty shootout.
This season, coach Miron Bleiberg has brought his team one step closer to A-League supremacy. GCU will meet Adelaide in the minor semi final next weekend.
