In a lop sided rugby league game at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast, the Titans smashed the Paramatta Eels 34 to 12 in round twenty-two of the National Rugby League competition. The Titans secured fourth place on the NRL ladder in front of 19,500 thrilled spectators.
It was all Paramattas way in the first half with tries to Jarred Hayne and Reddy.
The Hayne Plane was grounded in the second half, and gamebreaker Matt Rogers opened the scoring for the Gold Coast with a weaving run which left defenders grasping thin air.
Flying winger Kevin Gordon scored in 55th minute, then Bodene Thomson touched down in the 60th minute from a Scott Prince kick. Princey was kicking goals from any angle for a final tally of 5 goals from six attempts.
Anthony Minichello went from strength to strength, making try saving tackles and scoring two tries. The victory was in the bag at 28 12 but the titans weren’t done yet
Fullback Preston Campbell was as elusive as ever and resolute in defence, even cutting Fuifui Moimoi down with a textbook tackle around the legs.
Bodene Thompson scored a second try in the dying minutes for a final score of 34 to 12.
As a prelude, the Gold Coast Under 20’s smashed their Parramatta opponents 40 points to nil.

Their points for and against is finally out of the negative.
I hope they can beat the Roosters in Sydney this week, and send Matt Rogers out with a Grand Final win.
