The Gold Coast Branch were voted winners of the 2007 State competition held at Brisbane’s Mt Cootha in June.

Branch member Dianne Zipf said they also won the State title in 2005.

'It was a team effort, with various members contributing their part to the Magic of Christmas themed display,' she said.

'The decorations are made of icing sugar and the cake inside is usually fruit cake, although chocolate mud cake, banana cake and gluten free cakes are becoming more popular.'

Gold Coast Branch meetings are held on the second Monday of every month, and workshops are held on the fourth Monday of each month in the CWA Hall at 43 Ventura St, Mermaid Beach.
