More than 20,000 people are expected to get into the rhythm at the Broadbeach Jazz Festival this weekend. The free-to-enter event will feature a quality selection of Australia’s finest jazz musicians with Australian favourites Marcia Hines and Vince Jones set to headline the 3 day Festival.
With the largest line-up and participating venues in the event’s four year history, artists will be performing on outdoor stages and in venues throughout Broadbeach on the Gold Coast.
The entre line-up features more than 35 of Australia’s finest jazz artists including Albare, Ingrid James, Louise Denson, Sarah McKenzie, Emma Hamilton and Bob Schultz as well as local talent Ashley Lewis, Shannon Marshall and a whole lot more.
Broadbeach venues hosting entertainment for this year’s event include Alto Cucina Bar, Oracle Boulevard, Niecon Plaza, The Oasis Shopping Centre, Room 81 and TC’s at the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach,
Jupiters Hotel and Casino will present ‘A night with the stars,’ a ticketed event featuring David Campbell, Grace Knight, Liam Burrows as well as James Morrison and Emma Pask.
Local up and coming artists join the line-up with performances from Griffith University Young Conservatorium Big Band and Jazz Ensembles, Mal Wood & Friends as well as The Gold Coast Youth Orchestra.
The multi-award winning Broadbeach Alliance team responsible for the hugely successful Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival will present the Broadbeach Jazz Festival. Broadbeach Alliance CEO Jan McCormick believes this year’s Festival will be the best one yet.
“This festival is growing every year and with headline acts such as Marcia Hines and Vince Jones, as well as the amazing local musicians and youth groups performing, the 2012 festival is set to be something truly amazing, a really family friendly festival” said Mrs McCormick.
The Broadbeach Jazz Festival is part of a series of Gold Coast events designed to attract more domestic tourism during the winter months. Other events include Cooly Rocks On, Blues On Broadbeach, the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, the Gold Coast Marathon and the Surfers Paradise Festival.
