Australia Day Lunch At Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club
January 27th 2010 07:38
Broadbeach was abuzz on Australia Day, with people picnicking in the park, boozing on the balconies and cruising in their cars. At The Surf Club, Kurrawa, the party was in full swing too.
Kurrawa SLSC is world renowned for producing first class athletes such as Hayley Bateup and Ky Hurst. There’s a shipload of trophies to prove it. Less widely known is their great bistro. With indoor and balcony seating, diners can overlook the beach and the beautiful blue ocean stretching to the horizon, watch the sports on the big screen or have a flutter on the pokies.
The staff are super friendly, the drinks are cold, and the prices are reasonable. Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menus are a multicultural fusion of flavours.
From veal parmagiana and lasagna to Chinese style duck there is something to please everyone. Seafood dishes abound, with oysters, lobster mornay, grilled perch, and barramundi to name a few. A selection of steaks, salads and pasta are also available. Nippers meals for the kids include fish and chips, chicken burgers, nuggets and spaghetti bolognaise.
There is live entertainment every Sunday from 3 to 6pm, a Friday arvo lucky draw, gaming promotions, daily specials…they even have a facebook profile! Check out the Kurrawa SLSC.
