Amazing Pics - Luxury Yacht Destroyed In Seconds
December 16th 2009 03:57
Boats are expensive toys, but this four and a half million dollar Christmas present was ruined when it took a swan dive from a great height.
The crane, which cost $2,500 an hour to rent, had a faulty turnbuckle which snapped, plunging the yacht nose first into the water with a salesman clinging to the stern.
The 65 foot custom built motor yacht, equipped with four staterooms, a state of the art galley, GPS and radar navigation and twin supercharged diesel engines, was a write off.
The new owners and a few friends were enjoying champagne and chocolate covered strawberries while two corporate representatives were preparing to ink the final paperwork.
It was never like this at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, where are launched every year.
