The AC/DC Black Ice Tour has electrified audience in Melbourne and Sydney and now it’s Brisbane’s turn. The first of two Brisbane shows exploded on Thursday 25th, thrilling forty thousand die hard fans from six to sixty. AC/DC performed hits from the Black Ice album released on 18 August 2008, such as Rock’n’Roll Train, War Machine and Stormy May Day, in which guitarist Angus Young uses a slide.
Rock music lovers lined up for hours to see their idols, and Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Malcolm Young, Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams didn’t disappoint them. Acca Dacca also played iconic songs from their 37 year history including Long way to the top, Dirty Deeds and Hells Bells.
The raw energy of front men Brian Johnson and Angus Young is intense and sustained, as they run around the stage, jumping and cavorting like demented spring lambs rather than men in their 50’s. Brian Johnson even swings from the rope of a giant bell suspended overhead.
Ably supported by Wolfmother and Calling All Cars during the Australian leg of the tour, the release of their new album, AC/DC: Iron Man 2, is due to be released on 19th April 2010 to coincide with the release of the upcoming film, Iron Man 2.
A crowd of 48 thousand is expected to attend the Queensland Sports and Athletics Centre, formerly known as ANZ Stadium, in Brisbane on Saturday the 27th February. Gates open at 5.30 and there are a limited number of final release seats available at $99 each through Ticketek.
